A response to my email asking to pass another unemployment extension

No, it wasn't any senator of mine that responded to one of my emails pleading for another unemployment extension.
Odd too, since the number of emails I've sent is fast approaching the "countless" marker.
But one of my regular readers Peggy. (unbelievable that I have regulars:) did give me permission to share with you the email she received from her Florida senator, George Lemieux.
I thought it might be an eye opener and also a motivator to join Peggy and all those who are already regularly
sending emails to their own members of congress urging and pleading to pass another federal extension.
The email explaining why he voted no to another unemployment extension
Dear Ms. Mulhearn:
Thank you for taking the time to share your views with me regarding the extension of unemployment insurance benefits.
I believe it is imperative that Congress take the necessary action during a time of economic crisis to help hard-pressed families. Here in Florida, we are facing record high unemployment rates and families are struggling. Extending unemployment benefits could help many of these families get by while we work to spur economic recovery. At the same time, I feel the federal government must make a greater effort to live within its means. I will continue to work with my Senate colleagues to find a solution that provides individuals and families with the help they need, while not adding to our nation's unsustainable debt.
Again, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with me regarding the extension of unemployment insurance benefits. It is an honor and privilege to serve the people of the great State of Florida in the United States Senate. I take great pride in being a native Floridian, and I look forward to the tremendous opportunity to better the lives of all Floridians. I assure you I will work hard to represent our state to the best of my ability in the U.S. Senate. If I can be of any further help to you, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Very truly yours,
George S. LeMieux
United States Senator
