Am I entitle for unemployment if I worked part time?

by Z
(West Palm Beach, Florida, United States)

for example:If I get fire without good cause, I can apply for unemployment.

Hi,

Yes you can establish a claim for benefits on part-time wages, but the thing that can stop some people from collecting benefits based on part time wages is when they can't look for full-time work.

So be careful when looking for work .. make sure you don't limit your availability because Florida does not have a part-time worker provision ..

Although the USDOL says that the issue is "interpreted" in Florida .. I don't have access to the precedents that explain how they interpret when a part-time work is allowed to limit their search for work to part-time.
