are companies allowed to give write-ups and suspension at the same time for same offense

was written up and was suspended on same day for the same offense. seems to me as if i was punished twice for same offense. had been with company for 3 years

How do you figure you were punished twice? The suspension needs to be documented.

Employers can fire you without good cause if they want to and there are no laws which prevent them from writing someone up or from suspending them all on the same day.
