Unemployed Stories

being absent from work due to illnesses(with doctors/hospital documentation

by Shelly
(Ohio)

I had been at this company for 2 years and was fired due to illnesses with doctor/hospital documentation. I had never been given any kind of written warning. I know the company is not doing well and I feel this is the reason I have been let go, not necessarily the absences from work. I was given a 2 weeks severance and in the letter from my employer (which did not say why I as fired)it said that they would not contest unemployment benefits and would only provide the truth to the unemployment board and rebut on false statements.

Hi,

I take you want to know if I think you should be able to collect?

Doctor notes/excuses? Yes.
