being dismissed for not returning from leave
I took a year off from fulltime work to help my father care for my mother, who has Alzheimer's Disease. My father suffered a heart attack and wasn't able physically to handle her anymore. I took a leave to help, thinking he would recover, but it turned into a full year. My father still cannot care for her and she requires constant help. My job has called and informed me that they will terminate me if I don't return to work by such-and-such date. I am needed at home and want to be there.
I need to know what state you are in. I also need to know if while caring for your parents, you will be able and available for fulltiime work and it would be nice to know if the need for you to be there with your parents was medically documented.
