Can I collect Indiana unemployment if I missed work - Attendance point system

by N
(Indiana)

cannot have missed work for 6 months. have 35 hours of missed work, however - 27 hours of that have doctor slips and/or due to inclement weather conditions.

Hi N,

Not much information here, but what you did say leads me to believe your employer utilized a point system for attendance...and when you accrue the specified points...they discharge regardless of the reason for the "last absence".

States do not use a point system to determine eligibility. They most often look at the reasons for absences and are especially interested in the final incident.

Whether you collect or not will depend on examining your attendance record, but if that final absence was not for illness or some other event out of your control...your chances of collecting benefits will deteriorate.
