Can I collect unemployment if i was terminated due to attendance.

by Jen Coter
(Concord, Ca)

At my job there is an attendance points system. So if you miss 59 hours of work you are terminated. We are allowed 32 hours of kincare to tend to an immediate family member(parent, spouse or child) that doesn't affect our attendance adherance. I have exhausted all of my kin care hours and I am negative 42 hours right now. I am currently sick with a doctors note to prove that I am unable to work. Can I qualify for unemployment?

Most likely you will, but if they deny you benefits .. then absolutely appeal the denial.
