does worker comp affect my unemployment benefits?

I was injured at my job, collected one compensation check so far. My job is closing Aril 23,2010. Will the worker comp checks affect unemployment benefits.

Hi,

It depends on what state you would be collecting from. There's a short discussion and table regarding worker comp payments on UI benefits in the Non-monetary chartbook beginning on page 36.

You do realize that the fact that you are collecting worker's comp says that you probably aren't able to work .. therefore even if worker's comp isn't an issue in that table .. UI benefits may not be available until you are available for work again.

Being able and available for work is an eligibility "condition" to receive unemployment.
