MY EMPLOYER USES THE POINT SYSTEM WHERE IF YOU USE UP YOUR POINTS FOR THE YEAR THEN YOU GET FIRED. WELL I POINTED OUT BECAUSE OF MEDICAL REASONS LIKE HAVING DIARIA AND NOT DRIVING THE 13 MILES TO WORK THINKING I WILL NOT MAKE IT THE DISTANCE SO I DECIDED MY BEST BET IS TO JUST STAY HOME.EVERY TIME I DO THAT IT COSTS ME 2 POINTS. WELL I USED ALL OF THEM UP AND GOT FIRED FOR IT.CAN I COLLECT UNEMPLOYMENT BECAUSE OF THIS?
Hi Pat,
It depends. Did you go to the doctor? Do you have a note. Is this "problem" recurrent and have you sought out medical help for the problem? Does the employer have a policy which requires a doctor's note? Did they ask for one?
This is why many states like to see "documentation". It alleviates the need to ask all the questions.
