I am being penalized unfairly from UC in WV

I have been collecting UC. I look for work & report for interviews as required. I received a letter saying to report to the UC office because I didn't report to put in a application in July. I went yesterday & told them I NEVER refused to go on a interview or put in a application. Now I'm told I may not receive add'l benefits until I find full time work & become eligible again. I am angry because I ALWAYS follow the rules. I am considering since I'm not getting paid I may just quit filing. Does Unemployment have to know my decision?
I'm not going to appeal it because you can't fight city hall.
