Sign up? If you mean .. can you file for unemployment .. yes.

There is nothing to prevent a person from filing, but as I have tried to explain for three years nos .. filing for unemployment is just the act that says you believe you have lost your job through no fault of your own.

What is not clear is whether you quit in lieu of discharge or if you quit in anticipation of discharge.

The latter of the two is usually disqualifying.
