My manager said to take a piece of paper to the unemployment office to get unemployment. However, it says discharge for poor work performance instead of lack of work.

Will I still get unemployment in Tennessee?

Seriously, how do you expect me to give you a coherent answer to this? I don't know .. I don't have enough information to even go off on one of my general .. yet relevant :) .. tangents about unemployment.

Did you ask your employer why the paper says discharge instead of lack of work?

Or did you just hand it over to the unemployment department and tell them it must be a mistake because you were laid off for lack of work?
