NYS-If my husband rents out our basement will I lose my unemployment benefit?

I'm currently collecting unemployment in NYS. If my husband rents out our basement, would that be considered "an activity that might bring in income"?

Hi,

I don't see how. It's not wages. It's not money from a pension or retirement. It doesn't mess with you being able and available for work.

It's sounds like a very good plan to survive unemployment to me.

Quite frankly, I do not see how or why it would be any business of the NYS or any unemployment department if you rent out your basement.

Happy Renting,

Chris
