partial unemployment

by Unknown
(Los Angeles, CA)

I'm an apt.manager. I get a free apt., collect rent from tenants, show apts to prospective tenants, and do some maintenance. I was going into the office and getting paid from 35-40 hrs. Now I was told to only come in 2 hrs a day and only 2 days a week. Granted, I get my efficientcy apt. free but I will not have any money to pay for my bills. Do I qualify for partial unemployment and can I get fired for doing so?

Well, I think you should file a claim for partial benefits.

Can you get fired for filing a claim? Yes, anyone can be fired for just about anything that strikes an employers fancy, but if you do get fired for filing a claim you would then get the total amount of your WBA because that would not be misconduct.
