Qualifying if I was laid off but still have money coming in from a rental property

by Scott
(California Unemployment Benefits)

I am preparing to get laid off soon but have a rental property I collect income from. Would I still qualify for unemployment?

Hi Scott,

As far as I can tell, it shouldn't be deductible income from CA unemployment benefits because it doesn't sound like wages or a compensation being paid due to something connected with being an employee.

However, I suggest you read the info at the UIBDG which I provided the link to.

You're the one with an intimate knowledge of your own circumstances .. therefore you need to verify for yourself.
