Quit Job after spouse relocated 3 hours away from my job.

I quit my job of ten years a month ago. I commuted some days 200 miles to keep job till it was becoming financially impossible to keep 2 houses heated. I found it hard to look for work when i was 3 hours away working.
So i put notice in and quit. My boss knew months ahead of time that i eventually was going to leave. Now a month after being unemployed and going thru my savings,I applied for unemployment in New York. Does this seem like legitimate reason to get unemployment?

I would try to get unemployment based on your reason for quitting if .. I lived in NY.
