RetailMeNot.com and ShopGala.com Coupon Codes

I'm torn between my two favorite coupon code sites, RetailMeNot.com and ShopGala.com

I know that many of you have probably already heard of RetailMeNot.com as it tends to have the most total coupon codes. And when they work they're really awesome! For example, I once snagged a free shipping deal from Target that saved me almost $100 on shipping costs (needless to say I was buying some bulky items!).

The only downside of RetailMeNot.com is that oftentimes the coupon codes don't work. I'm not sure if this is the work of scammers or too many people use the coupon codes and the retailer shuts it down. Fortunately, they have a rating system that's actually pretty reliable for determining whether a coupon code is functioning or not.

The other site I've been using more often lately is ShopGala.com. They don't have the same amount of coupon codes of RetailMeNot.com (who does?), but the ones they do have tend to work more often. For example, I used a Kohls coupon code for free shipping off of a $75 purchase. This saved me a ton because I like to do a lot of my holiday shopping early and I was able to grab a lot of nice things for my family and saved a decent amount from shipping.

However, ShopGala isn't the prettiest or easiest-to-navigate site. Also, they sometimes show coupon codes that no longer work. That's why I tend to have a few coupon code websites in my virtual Rolodex that I go to when I get the shopping bug. Because they have the biggest selection, I go to RetailMeNot.com. But if I can't find anything good there, I stop by ShopGala. And if that doesn't work I go to CouponCabin.com -- a site that still has a lot of good deals but isn't as extensive as it used to be.

Anyway, I hope his helps people find a coupon code that saves them some cash (in this economy, we could all use it!).
