Taking mentally challenged mother to the emergency room and they won't fill out FMLA papers

by Cristy Backus
(Rossville,Ga,U.S.A)

I am an only child and my mother isn't married and she was living with me and I had to take her to the emergency room so she could get medicine and the emergency room wouldn't fill out my Fmla papers and now I have been fired. Can I still get unemployment wages.

Try using the documentation from the emergency room visit.

I assume you did call off work properly and that you must have been on some kind of final written warning for attendance?

As far as why the hospital wouldn't fill out FMLA paperwork .. I don't know .. in fact, I don't know if they have to.

That, you would need to ask a lawyer or at least someone well versed on FMLA guidelines.
