Hi Anonymous,

The time to file for unemployment benefits is when the base period will be optimal for you.

can i file 30 days later and still collect from they day I was Layed off ?
or Do I loose the first 3 weeks if I wait to file ?

No, if there is an ability to backdate a claim for benefits in Florida .. I don't know of it.

Your claim and any payments you do receive begin after you file the claim and after you serve the required unpaid one week waiting period.

A claim for benefits can be made at anytime .. the concern is that you don't wait so long as to affect the amount you can get because you lost part of your base period wages.

I was laid off in March, I filed for EU but was denied because not enough wage credits for the base period. If I refile again (if I cant find a job) in July I would have enough wage credits. In Florida am I allowed to refile in July if I can't find a job?

Yes, if you have not found a job by then .. you should try to requalify the beginning of June by filing another claim.
