When will I get payment?

I am a laid off teacher in FLorida. I filed for unemployment on June 6 and have been claiming on line every two weeks. No payment has come. I've written letters and the phone line is always busy. Can you help?

Hi,

Have you received a determination yet??

Not for me either
by: Pinellas Teacher

I was on annual contract and filed June 6. A few weeks later, I get a notice saying I had no wages during the claim period. They give me a fax number and I send over documentation. A few weeks go by and turns out they never got the paperwork. Another couple of weeks and I get a denial based on "reasonable expectation" of being rehired. I once again, fax over proof of my job being eliminated. Now, I have a phone interview to prove my case. Apparently, this same scenario happened to two of my coworkers. Seems that this is the school system's way of not paying out for summer months and making those of us truly laid off suffer. I also noticed that our district uses an outside company that runs the unemployment claims. I'm exhausted.

You're right .. it's exhausting and those outside companies protest SD claims as reasonable assurance claims it seems .. without fail.
