Write ups and counter documenting - Something everyone should know!!!!

by sd
(charlotte, NC)

Could I get unemployment if my supervisor have me sign writes ups of a period of time? I have refused to sign the write ups because my supervisor put things in that are not true. I think they want me to quit work and if I don't they use a paper trail of writes ups.
I live in N. Carolina

Thank you

Hi SD,

I repeat myself constantly about this very issue .. refusing to sign write-ups will usually only hurts you. Some employers even have policies about it. You need to counter document when you are written up.

You can counter document right on the write-up. Most have a place for your comments. Use the space to state your reasons for disagreeing with the corrective action.
