Unemployed Stories

wrongful termination

by perry
(California Unemployment)

i was fired last Dec.28,2010 for very little things working in a trucking industry.

Ive never cost the company money to spend on my wrong doings or mistakes that ive done.

The reason was i was unsafe driving because i forgot the box of the trailer that was open when i finish the delivery.

And they said that i was not meeting their expectation through work.I finish my work everyday and never have any tickets or at fault accident in my commercial driver career thats why i was so surprise when they called me and telling me that they are terminating me.A lot of my co driver have more offenses such as product mixes, wrong delivery address that have cost the company thousand of dollars in damages but im wondering they still have the job. What i feel right now is i was judge unfairly and terminated wrongfully,is this a good state for a lawsuit if i will file a complaint to the department of labor??????

Hi Perry,

I just don't see the "wrongful termination", but then, I'm not a lawyer .. and although with a little digging I might think unemployment benefits are possible for the reason fro termination if it was an isolated mistake made in good faith while performing your job .. I'm a little concerned about this statement ..

Ive never cost the company money to spend on my wrong doings or mistakes that ive done.

What does that mean??

Maybe you should first find out what "at will employment" is so you can understand that an employer can fire you for just about anything they want to fire you for.
