Denied for 1st appeal, late on requesting for 2nd appeal and appeal denied for being late. Is there any other way to still try to win unemployment benefits?

Hello there, I made sure to fax my appeal before I left out of town to visit my dad in his last days. The appeal was due by July 14th and I faxed it over the morning of July 12th the day of my flight. I was denied benefits because they didnt receive the fax until the following Monday June 18th. Unfortunately the fax machine I used doesnt print confirmation pages or even monthly reports. I have my appeal September 15th for me appealing that they didnt receive it on time. Is there anything else that I can provide to prove I indeed faxed it on time? Also, all the info they sent me including my appeal fax in the bottom corner of tge paper the small print shown it was received on the 18th at about 3oclock but it was stamped it was received on July 19th. That’s clearly an error within it’s self right?

If it were me, and I didn’t have a fax transmittal (the only advantage of faxing by the way) I’d use that date/time stamp provided by some state fax machine for all it’s worth .. it should be sufficient.

The board of review received my appeal for being late in on Feb. 2011. It’s now August 2011 I haven’t heard from them yet why so long?

I really hate to ask the obvious .. but have you called them to find out if they know what the hold up might be?

My appeal letter came to my mother house, she said the letter came 4 days before she gave it to me and I mail the letter 1 day later, so I don’t know how it could have been late

I thought I had more time but I was only a few days late.

Then I would say you are done for. If an appeal is late .. you must show good cause for the late appeal .. otherwise an appeal deadline means just that .. deadline.
