laid off from full time job still have part time can you collect unemployment in florida?

by james

(west palm beach, florida, USA)

Laid off from full time job (80k per year)of 26 years, still have part time job (of 6 months) making (19k per year), can you collect unemployment in florida?

Hi James,

I estimate that you are earning about $365 dollars a week from your part-time job.

If this is about right…You can open a claim and they of course would find you eligible for the max weekly benefit amount (was $275, but due to stimulus probably closer to $300 now), but Florida only disregards 8 times the federal minimum wage when calculating partial UI. I believe that presently that amount is 52.80.

You wouldn’t get anything if your earnings minus 52.80 exceed your weekly WBA.
