I just found out yesterday that the company I work for (for the past 4 years) is relocating to another part of NJ next month. This would more than double my commute (from 22 to 45 miles one way) & cause me to have to pay tolls. They really want me to continue working for them but I don’t think I will be able to deal with the commute–it will take me about an hour & 1/2 just to go 1 way. Would I be eligible for unemployment if I decide to quit? Thank you.

It’s possible because it is the employer changing the conditions of employment by moving, but it depends of what NJ thinks is an unreasonable distance and what the added cost might be .. NJ does not have a precedent decision manual that can help guide you with this .. so call the appeal board and ask them if they know.
And if you find out .. let us know so someone else in NJ might know the answer to this as well.
