I ended up not needing much but thanks for the information. I contacted the unemployment office last Friday and by Saturday morning I had a notice on the web site that my benefits were being paid. It was found that I did not violate a HIPAA rule and my former employer was told I should never have been terminated. As of this morning all my back benefits have been placed on my debit card thanks for your web site keep up the good work.

Being fired for HIPAA violations is a common theme of discharges for those working in medical fields. Especially those with some varying levels of permittable access to patient information

HIPAA stands for Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.

If you work in the medical field .. you should of received some training .. about how not to breech the law because it has potential to present a very large financial civil liability to an employer, such as a hospital .. non-profit or corporatized.
