Wages cut in half, but still work 40 hours a week. Is this good cause to quit and get unemployment in New York?

I work for a company in New York City. I work 40 hours a week. The company is having financial difficulties. They have cut my wages in half. Would this change in working conditions be cause for quitting and drawing unemployment?
