appealing a referee’s decision after the deadline

by Tom

(Philadelphia, Pa)

I recently received a decision that I was ineligible for benefits in Pa. after my first appeal hearing. The lawyer that represented me never got back to me about filing a second appeal. The last date for filing a second appeal was 1/6/2010. I’m being told by others to get an extension and file myself. Is it too late to ask for an extension and how would I ask for an extension.

Hi Tom,

I don’t know what an extension is for late filing.

I do know that you should file the appeal and ask that it be accepted as timely for whatever reason you give .. and hope for the best.

If you are going to do this on your own I suggest you acquaint your self with the PA rules.
