California notic of unemployment award vs. the non-monetary determination.

by CLAUDIA

(BERKELEY)

I RECENTLY APPLIED FOR UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS AND A FEW DAYS LATER I RECEIVED IN THE MAIL THE BENEFITS AWARD OF THE AMOUNT AND THEY SEND ME THE PAPER THAT YOU SIGN AND SEND IT TO THE MAILBOX SO YOU CAN RECEIVE YOUR CHECK BUT I DIDN’T HAVE A PHONE INTERVIEW BUT I JUST RECEIVED THE LETTER STATING THAT I WILL HAVE AN PHONE INTERVIEW A MONTH LATER DOES THAT MEAN I WILL NOT BE GETTING A CHECK OR IM NOT ELIGIBLE OR WHAT

Hi Claudia,

That’s what it means .. so far.

An award notice in California is the same as the monetary determination. It tells you how much you are entitled to if found “Otherwise Eligible”.

The interview is necessary to determine if you are eligible for that amount on the award notice.

The interview results in the Non-monetary determination .. or the situation based on the reason for the job separation .. you know .. misconduct, voluntary quits without good cause, able and available, .. The Issues.
