calling off on a force twice within a years time.

by Shawn

(lewistown, Pennsylvania )

I worked a factory job and worked 12 hour shifts,
alternating 36hour and 48hour weeks.. once a month there is an on call shift and twice a month or more you can be given a “force” on your day off… I called off twice on my “days off” within a year and was fired. They do make those consequences known.. I suppose I’m unsure of the legality.

Hi Shawn,

The legalities of what?
Whether the employer can legally, fire you for this?

Or how you would argue for unemployment benefits sake that it was a discharge without good cause because what you did wasn’t work related misconduct as defined by Pennsylvania?
