can i collect unemployment and a pension at the same time?

can i collect unemployment and a pension at the same time. I have already received and gone through my severance package.

Hi,

Ir depends on the state and who the pension is from.

If the pension is from a base period employer, depending on the amount you receive it may reduce partially or totally your weekly benefit amount.

This is a state specific issue as to whether pension or retirement payment are deductible from UI benefits. It may include pensions from other employers not in the base period or even is a different state.

I find this information at the USDOL in the Nonmonetary chartbook Table 5-16
