Can I filed for unemployment is my hours were cut?

by rosemary

(plymouth, mn)

After I had my daughter I went from working full time to part time( working 2 days a week). I was told that my position was filled while I was on maternity leave.

Hi Rosemary,

Were you on FMLA?

Whether you were or weren’t .. yes you should definitely file for unemployment. You should be entitled to partial benefits.

SHOULD I STILL FILE?

by: rosemary

TODAY (10/01/2009) I WENT TO WORK AND FOUND OUT THAT MY CURRENT POSITION HAD OPENED UP TO A FULL TIME? SHOULD I STILL FILE OR IS IT TOO LATE?
THANKS CHRIS

Hi,

I’m not quite sure I understand fully. Are you saying you will now be working 40 hours a week?

If so, it would now be to late to file for unemployment and if you refuse the additional hours you would not qualify.
