Can I qualify for unemployment if I was placed on bed rest for increased htn during pregnancy?

I was placed on bed rest for increased hyoertension during pregnancy, am I elgible for unemployement?

Hi,

Only if you live in a state that has temporary disability unemployment. Otherwise, you might, if your employer provides it, qualify for short-term disability payments.

The reason regular UI benefits would not be a possibility is because you are on bed rest .. you’re not able and available for work .. therefore you have not met one of the major eligibility conditions to collect .. the other would be that you are not unemployed due to the fault of the employer and in fact .. you aren’t unemployed because the employment relationship has not ended.
