Collecting unemployment when only available for part-time work – California

by S. Bryant

(Contra Costa County, CA USA)

I was initially hired for part time work. The practice picked up and was requiring me to work full time which I did for awhile, then I asked to reduce my hours which they were flexible with but it ended up not working out for them in the long run. Also, I’ve had other stresses in life recently that I unfortunately allowed to affect my job performance and ended up making more than a couple errors in my work.

Hi S.

Collecting unemployment when you restrict your self to part-time work is a state specific issue.

It is not a possibility in all states.

You need to read
AA 5 (C) in the CA Eligibility guide.
