Employer Stated there was a Lack of work for me

by ab

(los angeles, ca.)

Thats the truth! I was told there wasn’t enough work for me so I was being terminated. I asked why that wouldn’t be considered a “layoff” as I never received any bad reviews or bad communication of any kind. I was given a lot of double talk. Sounds to me like they just don’t want to pay unemployment.
So, quickly thinking, I filled out a resignation letter stating I am resigning in lieu of termination which the employer also signed.
Should I be eligible for benefits.

Hi Ab,

Care to fill in the middle?

What happened between “Thats the truth! I was told there wasn’t enough work for me so I was being terminated” and “So, quickly thinking, I filled out a resignation letter stating I am resigning in lieu of termination which the employer also signed.”
