Fired for one at fault company vehicle accident

by phil

(texas)

I was fired for one at fault company vehicle accident

I was involved in an at fault vehicle accident I worked for the company for 2 years. Their policy is an automatic termination for anyone involved in an at fault accident within a year is automatically terminated in the 2 years with company I had never received any prior discipline for driving. I was denied benefits because I got fired.

Answer

Hi Phil

Appeal. One accident can be argued as a one time isolated incident .. or accident .. two accidents that you are at fault for .. begin to show negligence, disregard and/or carelessness.

The most basic exception for a one time occurrence would be if the person failed a drug/alcohol test after the accident .. or failed to report the accident to the employer .. or the proper authorities as per the employer’s policy.
