Getting unemployment again after missing the mandatory unemployment meeting

by Mike

Hi,

I recently lost my job after a knee injury. I filed for unemployment then had a “quarter-life crisis” packed up my saved money and headed on a round the world trip (no regrets!)

I received unemployment mail at home and obviously stopped claiming because I was not looking for work. I know I received a letter for my first mandatory meeting. Does this mean my claim was approved? The person keeping my mail says they only received a letter saying when my first meeting was scheduled for.

Furthermore, I lost my unemployment benefits after missing the meeting. Would I be able to get them again after returning home?

Thanks,
Mike

Relevant state please.
