Grateful in Michigan

by KC

(Michigan)

Hi Chris!

I’m not sure if you remember speaking to me in early October (the 8th?) I had been terminated back in February for what my employer told the UIA were fraudulent text messages and emails that only contained my opinions. But, I contacted you to inquire about timeliness standards in the State of Michigan, as it had been 8 months of waiting for my appeal hearing to be scheduled!

I wanted to give you the update! I immediately started making phone calls when I got off the phone with you. I left a message for a rep at the unemployment board of review. I sent an electronic message through the UIA site requesting a copy of my state claim file.

I’m not kidding, within 5 minutes I had a phone call from the board of review, and 5 minutes after that I had a phone call from UIA confirming that my state claim file was going out in the mail that day. My hearing was on the schedule by the next business day.

Anyway, long story short, my former employer didn’t show to the hearing (big surprise) and I just received the verdict which reversed my initial denial!

I don’t feel like I would have resolved this no hearing issue without you! In fact, I spoke to many people over the last several months who never followed up on their claims because it’s such a red tape hassle.

Please keep doing what you are doing and know that you are helping people who are often in helpless situations! I can’t thank you enough!

May God bless you and your family!

I was seriously appalled at how long you had been trying to get an appeal hearing to no avail.

I’m glad to hear just a little appropriate pressure in the right places worked out well for you!
