Help Me Get Out of Here

Hi, I have been working here for 12 years now. I started in the warehouse pulling orders. About 20 people worked here then, now it is just me, doing all the warehouse work, the packing, the invoicing, the customer service and daily routines.

I work in a warehouse, 7 hour days with no lunches, and only a break with a phone in my hand.

I have no drinking water, unless I bring my own.

I have asked my boss how much Vacation time I have built up, for over 2 years now. She is always to busy to figure it out, so I still don’t know.

I understand that we have no Worker’s Comp Insurance. Plus, if I were to get hurt it would be late in the day before someone might find me.

Can I quit and draw unemployment?

I really don’t want to be here, now that everyone else is gone. I feel stuck.

How do I get out after 12 years, with no medical insurance, or Worker Comp Insurance?

How about you help me try to help you out here

You could reasonably begin by letting me know what state you’re employed in .. because that can matter.

And it wouldn’t bother me a bit if you also told me you already read the article I wrote about the basic premise of quitting a job with good cause and are aware of what creates good cause .. before I, someone who does know quite a bit about how unemployment works, decides to spend the time it would need to research some of those issues you’re having with your job that you raised as potential good cause to quit.

Also, it would be good to know if you are an exempt, or non-exempt hourly wage employee.
