I finished a temporary assignment that lasted a little over two (2) months, can I collect unemployment in California? Thank you.

by S. Brown

(Sacramento, CA)

Temporary legal assignment
Agency has no other jobs available
Duties were complete
Not fired, laid-off
Good working relationship with agency, but no work available now.

Hi S. Brown,

Established claim with benefits remaining? Or enough subsequent wages earned to purge any disqualification?

Or if new claim, enough wages in base period to monetarily qualify?

If so, yes.

Chris

No, yes, yes.

Hi Jaz,

Then I would think you could collect unemployment because no assignments equal a lack of work claim .. until there is another suitable assignment.
