I have just worked 2 days at my new job in maryland and have been let go, not because of misconduct, but, they said i wasnt the right fit, can i still get unemployment?

Well Henson, at first blush I’d say yes.

The discharge was not for misconduct. Two days of employment would be a tough sell as misconduct even under the best of circumstances .. let alone being told you’re “not the right fit” which implicitly implies there was no misconduct.

But I tend to think ahead and backwards for other possible problems .. so I’m hoping that my assumption that you were collecting unemployment before you took this job is correct and that you didn’t have to quit a job to take this one .. which could very well present a problem.
