I reported incorrect punch time which caused me to get paid overtime.

by Abdul

(Philadelphia)

I used my boss’s logins to log in her time reporting website and clocked myself in a few hours ahead of when i actually came in. I know i messed up but i was wondering would they grant my unemployement? i have an appeal in front of a refferee on the 19th of march.
I dont know if it will help to tell them I got a mortgage, a pregnant wife and i am doing everything i can to find a job. Do you have any advice for me? Please help….

Abdul,

No, it won’t help to tell them you have a mortgage.

You are guilty of time theft and you will not get unemployment if the employer does what they are suppose to do.

This is a clear case of misconduct due to “time theft”.
