if collecting unemployment benifits in north carolina and you move to pa can you stilll collect them

i just started collecting unemployment benefits in north carolina and im going to have to move to pa, can i still collect

Hi,

Yes, this should not be a problem as long as you follow NC’s guidance for changing your address and just to be safe .. make sure NC doesn’t have any locality provision in their statutes.

Locality provisions exist in some states and I can’t recall off the top of my head if NC is one of them. They serve to throw a monkey wrench into the mix most times if you choose to move to a labor market that doesn’t have any suitable work for you ..

In other words if dog sledding is your profession .. it might raise eyebrows if you move to Florida

.. Except you might have a good argument based on the weather lately :))
