if i put in my 2 weeks notice and get asked to leave can i get umemployment

if i put in my 2 weeks notice and get asked to leave can i get unemployment?

Hi Bekia,

The answer is usually yes .. but there is usually a big but to go along with that answer in a majority of the states.

Since you gave notice .. it will still becomes a voluntary quit on the date you gave and continuing benefits depend on whether it was with good cause or not.

Up until that date .. it is usually looked at as a discharge without good cause and because most states have a one week unpaid waiting period .. most people won’t be able to collect long.

Got it?
