If I quit my job to attend school full time, can I collect unemployment?

by future nurse

(CT)

I would like to attend nursing school full-time and my job hours do not fit my school schedule. Can I quit and collect unemployment?

Hi Future Nurse:)

I hate to tell you this, but if you quit your job to attend school fulltime you will not be able to collect unemployment benefits .. not even in Connecticut which is a very liberal state when it comes to unemployment benefits.

Here is the source I use to check this issue when someone asks. It’s good to find the answer no matter what state a person lives in.

Nonmonetary eligibility Table 5-12

Everyone should follow their dreams. I wish you the very best!

Chris
