If the Nonprofit gets cutbacks due to state funding and decides to let an employee go, can that employee receive unemployment?

Hi Lauren,

Yes. A non profit is usually a reimbursing employer, but an employer nonetheless. A reimburser gets a bill every year for ALL benefits paid .. because they don't contribute to a fund based on wages paid. This is why reimbursers fight unemployment claims harder than anyone.

No job due to no funding equals a lack of work claim.

The massive IDES.PDF It's nearly 800 pages and very searchable!!
