independant contractor wages

Can you have earnings as an independant contractor while on unemployment in PA? I found a once a month job as a guitar player in a band and reported it as income now the UC office has me down as an employee of the resort which is not true. How do I solve this problem?

You need to call them and straighten them out .. There appears to be something weird happening .. UI departments are now determining all type of work as “covered employment”.

The difference between covered or not is covered employment means the employer must pay UI Taxes on what you earn.

The flip side of this is PA might consider you “self-employed” and stop your benefits altogether because they think you are no longer able and available for other work.

What happens when a government runs out of money?
.. those straight lines they use to draw now become curve at will.
