Is it possible to receive your pension and UB in Fl?

by Margie

(Tampa, FL)

Is it possible to receive your pension (same employer for 26 yrs) and UB in Fl? My checks have been delayed while “they” investigate. Meanwhile I claim my weeks and just hope for the best. My last UB check was for the week ending 1-16-2010.

Hi Margie,

A pension from a base period employer will either wipe out your UI benefits because it is deductible income or if you’re lucky reduce the amount.

They are probably investigating because FL does consider employee contributions and therefore may reduce at less than a dollar for dollar rate.

I don’t know how they calculate the rate.
