IsTthere Partial Unemployment Benefits in Florida?

(Florida)

How does the partial unemployment work in Florida?

Hi,

Yes, of course a person can collect Florida partial unemployment as long as they are partially unemployed (reduced hours and earning less than what they would be getting on total unemployment).

First they determine what you would be getting if you were totally unemployed.

Then when you file your continued claim for benefits, you must report what you earned in that week.

The state then disregards 8 times the federal minimum wage of those earning (at least as I write this) before they start reducing your weekly benefit amount dollar for dollar.

Each state has their own formula, and the resource to find out what it is for a specific state is linked to on the page about unemployment pay.
