moving to another state to help family members who are in need

by Jaclyn

(Indiana)

My mom and stepdad are in need of help on their farm which is 350 miles away from where I used to live. I had been driving every weekend to assist. It was starting to cost me in this this trip along with my hours were being cut at work so my income was less. I left the company in hopes of finding another job close to my family.

Hi Jaclyn,

You would not get unemployment benefits if you told the state you moved to help your folks with the farm, but you mentioned that your hours were cut .. that present a “possibility” .. depending on how much they were cut.
